Bernice Abbott was born July 17th, 1898 in Springfield, Ohio and died December 9, 1991. She is a photographer of NewYork, where she had gone to school for sculptures. Abbott had met two of the co founders of the movement group "Dada" while in NewYork. The group was founded to protest senseless suffering of WWI. Abbott had moved to Europe and saw that she had a talent for photography. When she had moved back to NewYork, she had switched from portrait photography, to landscape photography. Abbott wanted to capture how the city was changing from urban, to a more modern area.
